Great bullet hell combat MMO.

Permanent death makes it exciting and rewarding.

Lots of content now, and more free giveaways (but I'd recommend spending maybe ten or twenty bucks to have extra character slots, though you get them for free just by logging in daily for a month).

New owners made a lot of good tweaks.

Quite, but it's actually fun because it's all bullet hell combat.

If you learn to survive and get good, the grind gets much easier. They've introduced daily quests and login giveaways and pets to make it faster, too. Pets are the only thing (besides what fits in your vault) that remains when you die, so not everything is lost upon death. Which is nice.

Pretty much all just drops, though you earn fame just by killing shit (when you hit the lvl 20 cap, xp becomes fame).

Getting to level 20 takes under an hour. Pick up items for your class as you go.

Once you're at 20, try to get to the Godlands (teleport to the big group of people in the middle of the map, by using minimap.) it has dark ground and rocks. Those enemies will drop stat potions that permanently increase your stats (up to a cap, different for each class). Some drop portals to dungeons, which will generally kill you until you've drunk some defense potions and can handle them. The Sprite World and Snake dungeons are easy enough. Farm Sprite World once you have T8 armor and a good defense ring, collect dexterity potions from that boss until maxed. Keep farming Godlands til you maxed atk, dex, Def, and speed (takes like 15 hours). Then you can move onto harder dungeons.

Priest is the easiest beginner class (and very good all around, good to have a maxed priest for farming).

Always ALWAYS be ready to hit R and bail out to Nexus before you die. It's a key game mechanic. Get used to using it, don't be greedy. Nothing is worth dying for.

When the server ends, everyone goes to fight Oyrx in his castle. Be extremely careful with this, especially if you don't have much defense. Or be ready to die. The drops are not really worth risking it unless you have solid defense.

Also, learn to play with the camera off centered and learn to turn the camera. Use the minimap to avoid backing into enemies. This makes it much easier to kill shit safely and get your damage in to get drops (good drops can only be picked up by the individual it is dropped for, and you have to do x amount of damage to the enemy to have a chance at those drops.)

I used to play a ton years ago and just went back, fresh account. Just turn off chat so you don't see all the trade spam, otherwise everything else is improved from earlier.

New ownership made it better; I quit before because of that. Deca bought it from Kabaam.

Everything can be earned for free including vault chests and character slots (those are earned by logging in daily for a whole month.)

And all you'd ever really want to pay for is character slots anyway. Which you can just set up alt accounts for if you're cheap, though you'll want a main account to build up a powerful pet.

At most you might pay twenty bucks for a game that has at least hundreds of hours of replay value.

Also there's a lot more content now and the drop rates are slightly better. And the pets make it significantly more forgiving since they don't die with you.

My Priest is mostly maxed (atk spd def dex) and now farming potions for my new Paladin. Got myself a nice heal/mp regen pet, feeding him all the good items I don't want. Found a couple Doom Bows and a T11 bow so I rolled an Archer for future use.

Been kicking ass, Priest has been alive all week but I had some close calls. Pretty sure I nexus'd out of a Slime Pit dungeon with fucking 1hp left, getting rammed by some sewer brute.

All these guys died. I'm getting a lot better and a lot less greedy though.

Moved away from the priest, he's too weak and even though he's very safe to play his weaknesses makes me impatient and greedy. Currently building up a Wizard who I'll use to grind out Sewers for precious defense potions.

But I've collected a lot of great loot and collect good shit a lot faster than I lose it, so that's good. Don't have to start fresh when I die. Pet is getting very strong which helps a ton with mp/hp regen.
